Born Second TimeTravel: Free Reverse Delay VST Plugin for macOS, Windows & Linux

A New Standard for Digital Time Manipulation

Born Second has officially released TimeTravel, a high-fidelity reverse delay plugin available as 100% free software for music producers. Designed to emulate the distinct, gritty character of the Old Blood Noise Endeavors BL-44 Reverse pedal, this tool offers a unique approach to time-based effects that goes beyond standard delay lines. Unlike typical digital delays that simply invert the signal, TimeTravel focuses on the specific tonal degradation and pitch-shifting artifacts that make reverse effects so compelling in modern electronic and rock production.

DSP Architecture & Sound Character

The plugin’s engine is built to capture the analog warmth and digital unpredictability of the original hardware. It features a dedicated reverse buffer that allows for precise control over the feedback loop, ensuring that the tail of the delay sounds as rich as the head. The sound character is defined by its ability to handle complex rhythmic patterns without introducing excessive digital noise, making it suitable for both subtle textural additions and aggressive, rhythmic processing. The interface is clean and intuitive, allowing producers to dial in the perfect amount of reverse feedback and mix level with minimal latency.

DAW Integration & Workflow

TimeTravel is available in VST, AU, and AAX formats, ensuring seamless integration with major digital audio workstations including Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, and Studio One. Its low-latency processing makes it ideal for real-time recording, allowing producers to capture spontaneous reverse delay performances directly into their sessions. Whether you are creating ambient pads, rhythmic percussion loops, or vocal effects, TimeTravel provides a versatile tool that enhances the spatial dimension of your mix. The plugin is compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux, making it a universal addition to any producer’s toolkit.
