idealism hetki Piano Plugin: 1908 Steinway Model O VST for €24.99

A Vintage Steinway Model O in Your DAW

idealism has officially launched hetki, a new character piano virtual instrument designed for music producers who seek the nuanced, warm, and slightly idiosyncratic tone of vintage acoustic pianos. Unlike modern, polished grand pianos that dominate contemporary pop and R&B productions, hetki is built around a 1908 Steinway Model O, offering a distinct sonic fingerprint that cuts through dense mixes with organic character. This release targets producers looking to add depth and historical texture to their ballads, jazz compositions, and cinematic scores without the cost of a full concert grand library.

Sound Design & Recording Provenance

The core of hetki’s sound is its source material: a 1908 Steinway Model O recorded at Greystoke Studio in London. The sessions were engineered by Andy, ensuring that the capture process preserved the instrument's natural decay, string resonance, and mechanical nuances. By focusing on a Model O rather than a larger Model D or B, idealism has created a piano with a more intimate, midrange-forward presence. This makes it particularly effective for solo piano passages and subtle accompaniment roles where clarity and warmth are prioritized over sheer low-end power. The sampling methodology captures the full dynamic range of the instrument, allowing producers to exploit the subtle differences between a soft touch and a hard strike.

DAW Integration & Workflow

hetki is available for both macOS and Windows, supporting standard plugin formats that integrate seamlessly with major DAWs including Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, and Studio One. The interface is designed for quick access to essential controls, allowing producers to adjust velocity curves, release tails, and other parameters without navigating complex menus. For beatmakers and audio engineers, the plugin’s lightweight footprint ensures it does not strain CPU resources, making it suitable for use in live performance setups or on mobile-compatible DAW configurations where system resources are limited.

Pricing & Free Trial Availability

The plugin is priced at €24.99, inclusive of VAT. This entry-level price point makes it an accessible addition to any producer’s toolkit, especially for those who want to experiment with vintage piano tones without a significant financial commitment. To help producers evaluate the instrument, idealism offers a free seven-day trial. This trial is fully functional, meaning there are no feature restrictions or watermarks. Users can load the plugin, record takes, and mix the instrument into their projects to determine if the 1908 Steinway’s character fits their production style before purchasing.
