Schmear by Pizza Bagel Plugins: Free Vocal Widener VST Deal (Reg. $19)

Zero-Cost Vocal Widening for Modern DAWs

Pizza Bagel Plugins has released a significant promotional offer for Schmear, their dedicated vocal widener plugin. Originally priced at $19.00, this tool is now available for free for a limited time. This move makes high-quality stereo widening accessible to producers on any budget, removing the financial barrier to enhancing vocal presence and width in mixes.

Micro-Pitch Shifting & DSP Architecture

Schmear utilizes a specific DSP approach centered on three fixed micro-pitch shift amounts: 3, 6, or 9 cents. This precision allows engineers to add subtle movement and width without introducing the comb filtering artifacts often associated with wider pitch shifts. The plugin features two modulated delay voices that are pitched in opposite directions, creating a natural, organic stereo image that remains stable across different playback systems.

Mono-Compatibility & Zero-Latency Processing

A critical feature for professional audio engineers is Schmear’s mono-compatibility. This ensures that when the signal is summed to mono (such as on club systems or mobile speakers), the phase cancellation issues typical of poor widening plugins are avoided. Additionally, the processing is zero-latency, meaning it will not interfere with real-time monitoring or recording workflows in DAWs like Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, or Studio One.

Workflow Features & System Compatibility

The plugin includes a robust set of utility features designed for efficient mixing: Dry/Wet Control & Trim: Full control over the mix balance with input and output trim to prevent clipping. A/B Comparison: Instantly toggle between the processed and unprocessed signal to judge the effect’s impact. 40-Step Undo: A deep undo history for non-destructive experimentation. Preset Browser & MIDI Learn: Quick access to saved settings and hardware control integration. * Full Automation: Every parameter is automatable for dynamic mixing. Schmear is available for Windows and Mac in VST3, AU, and AAX formats. One license covers three computers, though the current offer is a free giveaway.
