Cat Psychedelia Mewlure Free Ambient Reverb Plugin – 100% Free VST for macOS & Windows

Overview

Cat Psychedelia, the solo‑developer studio based in Japan, has just launched Mewlure, a free ambient reverb plugin for both macOS and Windows. Built around a single, expressive DIVE control, Mewlure lets producers sculpt decay, size, darkness, and a subtle pitch‑wobble in one smooth motion, making it ideal for cinematic pads, dreamy synths, and spacious vocal tracks.

Core Reverb Engine – The DIVE Control

Mewlure’s DSP core combines a high‑resolution convolution‑style algorithm with a proprietary modulation matrix. The DIVE knob simultaneously adjusts five parameters:

1. Effect Amount – overall wet mix.
2. Decay Length – tail duration from short rooms to infinite halls.
3. Size – perceived space dimensions.
4. Darkness – low‑frequency damping for a warm or bright tone.
5. Pitch‑Wobble – a slow, subtle detune that adds movement to the tail.

The plugin also features automatic level matching, so the output volume stays consistent as you push the DIVE knob toward extreme settings, eliminating the need for manual gain riding.

Workflow Integration in Major DAWs

Mewlure ships in VST3, AU, and AAX formats, ensuring seamless operation in Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Studio One, and Pro Tools. Its minimal UI loads instantly, allowing you to insert it on any track, bus, or master channel. Because the control set is deliberately simple, you can automate the DIVE knob directly from your DAW’s automation lanes for evolving reverb sweeps that react to song sections.

Installation & Compatibility

• OS: macOS 10.13+ (including Apple Silicon) and Windows 10+ (64‑bit).
